Holy Name of Mary Church in historic Algiers Point has hit a high note with a musical line up showcasing some of the best bands in the New Orleans metro area for their 100th annual Fall Festival Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1st, 2011.
Food, food and more food was on hand for purchase. You needed a healthy appetite to sample a delicious array from different vendors who cooked up a great selection including booths offering classic fair food and Louisiana favorites jambalaya, red beans, cold drinks and beer.
This years Fall Festival also offered an arts and crafts sale featuring the creative work of local artisans. For the kids, there were a variety of games, activities and inflatables for non-stop fun.
The annual Fall Festival is held on the grounds of Holy Name of Mary Church, built in 1929 and located in the center of the second oldest historic neighborhood in New Orleans, and serves as a fundraiser for the parish. Free parking is abundant in the neighborhood surrounding the festival.
