The Sound Source was proud to be a part of International Jazz Day Sunrise Concert from Congo Square.
International Jazz Day was celebrated by millions worldwide on Monday, April 30 and began with a sunrise concert in New Orleans’ Congo Square, the birthplace of jazz. The event will featured a number of jazz luminaries, along with Herbie Hancock, including Dianne Reeves, Jeff “Tain” Watts, New Orleans natives Terence Blanchard, Stephanie Jordan, Ellis Marsalis, Kermit Ruffins, Bill Summers,Treme Brass Band, Dr. Michael White, Roland Guerin and Congo Square Preservation Society.
