Red Bull Street Kings is a new event designed to be a showcase and platform for the next generation of brass bands influenced by the rich musical legacy of the New Orleans streets.
Four New Orleans brass bands, Free Agents, The Stooges, To be Continued, and Soul Rebels, participated in the inaugural competition.
In the end, The Stooges were crowned the Red Bull Street Kings as the top performing band of the main event and will receive an all-expense paid trip to Los Angeles for a 3 day recording and mentorship session with a veteran producer in Red Bull Studios.
The event was held under the Claiborne Avenue Bridge at St. Ann Street.
